Price drop in India

The new tender from South Korea over 4,000 mt has prompted further price drops in India. With the kharif production set to decline by 57% to 178,000 mt prices in India surged in October. Last week, hulled sesame seeds were trading for as much as 2,540 USD/mt CIF Hamburg.

Now, the situation has changed. Exporters in India have bided for large volumes and are hoping to get at least one order in. Their chances are, however, slim. Buying interest is also limited in India and the export market as
