NEW DELHI. GST continues to thwart trading activities on the Indian market, although the effects for exporters are among the least severe.

Rain as an opportunity

The prices are maintaining a higher level. After Chinese buyers mainly sourced from Africa this season, Indian suppliers could get their chance when larger quantities must be imported in the next few months. Heavy showers are pouring down on the growing regions in the south of China, particularly affecting the sesame seed crop. Especially later in the season, excessive rainfall can have negative effects on the crop yields and quality. Much depends on how weather conditions will develop in the Chinese growing areas in the next month or so.
