Sesame seeds: Drought endangers summer crop

NEW DELHI. Indian sesame seed prices continue to find it difficult to gain a foothold. Despite the low availability the prices do not get the necessary support to climb further up.

Prices cannot hold up
In recent days, Indian sesame seed prices have fluctuated slightly up and down until they finally closed below the previous week's level. Although there are hardly any goods left, the low buying interest prevents prices from rising. Instead, they tend further down. Indian traders report that they are currently exporting just one-third of the usual amount at the moment.
