NEW DELHI/ABUJA. South Korea has issued a new tender for sesame seeds for the first week in October. Farmers reckon that rain will reduce production in India's state of Gujarat.

New tender at the start of October

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trading Corporation has issued a new tender over 1,800 mt of sesame seeds in standard quality. This covers the remaining volumes not purchased in the last tender. Interested suppliers can register until 5 October, bids will be assessed one day later and delivery in Busan is scheduled for mid-December. Yet, the impact on the market will be limited as the volume is small and traders in India expect Pakistan to win most bids as prices are more competitive here.
