NEW DELHI/DODOMA. The summer crop in Tanzania is supplying the sesame seed market with new goods, while stocks from the Indian summer crop are slowly dwindling.

Tender has only short-term impact

Sesame seed supplies from the summer crop are shrinking noticeably, with only a good third of what was delivered to the trading markets last week arriving there in the past few days. Although some market experts reckon that Indian exporters are not likely to contribute large quantities to the current crop, demand from exporters is high and is causing prices in the domestic market to rise significantly again this week.
