Sesame seeds: arrivals slow down

NEW DELHI/KHARTOUM. China and Pakistan are expected to have good chances in the coming sesame seed tender. In the Indian growing regions, meanwhile, rainfall ensured good sowing conditions.

Low chances of success

After the prolonged downward trend, the Indian sesame seed market is supported by the tender announced for early July. South Korea plans to buy 15,000 mt of sesame seeds with the upcoming tender. Although Indian market players believe that the July tender has less chance of success for them, the announcement is enough to temporarily firm up prices.
