NEW DELHI/ABUJA. In the Indian sesame seed market, arrivals are failing to fulfil the expectations of market players. This is supporting prices despite the new crop.

Less sesame seeds in India

Arrivals of the new crop in the Indian sesame seed market have not reached the expected level. This week, just 472 mt of sesame seeds were delivered to the trading markets, with the majority coming from Gujarat (282 mt). Furthermore, market players are concerned about possible crop losses, which is keeping prices at the current level, with some upward corrections also being observed.
