NEW DELHI. Since 01 January 2019, food imports to South Korea have been subject to stricter pesticide controls. Indian traders therefore see their chance for a successful tender participation dwindling.

New crop gets going
More and more deliveries from the summer crop are arriving in the Indian trading markets. Good availability puts pressure on prices. At the same time, a high market price makes India less attractive as an origin for the South Korean sesame tender. However, the traders do not see any great opportunities for the June tender anyway.
