Increase in the crop planting

The monsoons have been a relief to the heated farmers and their land. It’s the time for the sowing of Kharif crops and the monsoon has been perfectly timed. The sowing is up by 8% compared to last year landing at 56.32 million hectares.

Rice: The Northwest monsoons have been 30% above normal leading to increase in the cultivation of rice by 4.5% compared to last year.

Pluses: Acreage increased by 14% compared to last year.

Cereals: The plating has been increased by 14.45% compared to last year.

Oil Seeds: However, it’s not the same case here as their acreage fell by 10% compared to last year.
