Producers in Europe are also struggling

In Austria the cultivation corn and soybeans proved so attractive last year that the farmers are likely to desist from further investment in pumpkin seeds this year. According to the latest report issued by Estyria, supplies of organic seeds should become highly limited because of the summer drought. Contrary to this, above-average yields have been recorded for conventional seeds in some growing regions.
