DALIAN. Reports on the developments in the pumpkin seed market in China most certainly lack objectivity. A price trend can, nevertheless, be clearly ascertained.

Price level is rising

The exporters, who have been offering at higher prices for some time now, are currently experiencing rather quiet weeks. Contrary to this, the suppliers, whose prices were at the lower end of the range, are experiencing a rather different situation. They speak of good demand and low supplies, which is why they have now also raised their prices significantly. Problem is that there are not enough good quality seeds available to supply customers until the arrival of the new crop. Further price increases are expected for now at least.
