DALIAN. The prices in China have been on the rise in recent weeks. Buyers are finding it increasingly difficult to find offers. Traders now report a surprising shift in prices.

Selling prices in China higher than in export market

Domestic demand for pumpkin seeds and for pumpkin kernels is so high in China that the selling prices within the country are higher than in the export market. This situation has rendered it unattractive for suppliers to sell overseas. Many refuse to provide offers since they are fully booked or sold out. Prices are only expected to start declining once the demand for the Chinese New Year starts to subside.
