Pumpkin seeds: prices maintain their high level

DALIAN. Despite the low demand, speculators who own a large part of the available goods are not willing to lower prices. However, market players expect the arrival of the new crop in September to lead to noticeable declines.

Higher demand in July and August

As in previous weeks, the Chinese pumpkin seed market is extremely sluggish with virtually no trading activity. Chinese traders report that most commodities are still in the hands of speculators, who are unwilling to lower prices despite the virtual absence of demand. For this reason, farmgate prices for shine skins remain at a very high CNY 19.4-19.6/kg.
