DALIAN. The Chinese pumpkin seed market probably has to give up all hope of a price decline in the near future. The prospects of smaller acreages for the 2017 pumpkin seed crop are driving the prices higher and higher.

Suppliers who still have commodities in stock now have an advantage over those who now have to restock at current prices. Still, here also the prices keep on rising. Different suppliers are currently offering Shine Skin and GWS seeds at the same price.

May deliveries are fully booked
There are hardly any free capacities for May deliveries, mainly June shippings are currently being offered as "prompt". The price trend continues to rise. Important factors for the price development in the next few months are mainly the weather and the actual seeded acreages. Current predictions are based only on the sale of seeds.
