Pumpkin seeds: freight costs cause new problems

DALIAN. After the situation of high freight rates had eased a little recently, the market is now facing new difficulties. The unstable currency is also contributing to the uncertainty of market players.

Stable prices

The raw material market for Chinese pumpkin seeds is currently stable and is only restricted by the Covid control policy, which is still in place in some north-western growing areas; the procurement of raw kernels there as well as the transport continue to be slow and complicated. The good news is that the restrictions are being eased more and more, so market players expect a quick economic recovery. At present, market prices are expected to remain relatively stable until the Chinese New Year. There were also only minor increases compared to last week:
