DALIAN. Demand on the Chinese pumpkin seed market is currently low, with shine skins in particular finding hardly any buyers. Buyers still have full warehouses and market experts estimate that orders for the new crop could also be delayed.

Full warehouses in the EU

The Chinese pumpkin seed market is stable with relatively little trading activity. Shine skin traders are having a particularly difficult time at the moment. The speculators, who own almost all the remaining stocks of shine skins, have miscalculated - they expected that rising domestic demand would drive up prices and make it easy to sell their goods.
