DALIAN. Demand on the Chinese pumpkin seed market is currently extremely weak and suppliers are only stocking up on the bare essentials in order to fulfil their contracts. Suppliers are hoping that the Chinese New Year will boost buying interest.

Moderate price declines

Prices on the Chinese pumpkin seed market continue to move in a very narrow range and have only fallen nominally by USD 10/mt compared to last week. Chinese traders report that demand from overseas remains very low. Most suppliers are now sufficiently stocked up and are fully booked into December. As the Chinese New Year is celebrated in February, some domestic purchases are taking place, although trade is also relatively sluggish here.
