Better demand from Psyllium Husk in July, prices will rise

Household and export business is sluggish in Psyllium Husk (Isabgol) these days. After the new tax system GST being implemented from July 1 in the country, there is a possibility of fresh demand for Psyllium Husk (Isabgol). Due to the preparation of GST so far the business is stuck in Pshyllium Husk (Isabgol). P&G, the largest buyer of Psyllium Husk (Isabgol), is now also taking up the requisite requirements. This company had already bought it according to its demand, due to which it is now limited.

The traders said that due to the commencement of the Kharif crop, there is an inward slack in the markets in Psyllium Seeds(Isabgol). These days there are three thousand sacks in the boards of Psyllium Seeds in the markets of Gujarat, while the business is happening around seven thousand sacks. From July it will be inward and vulnerable and the business will not be less than five thousand sacks daily. In the coming days, the prices of Psyllium (Isabgol) are getting stronger. Businessmen believe that the prices of Psyllium (Isabgol) can reach up to US$1950 to 2100 per mt. from Diwali because this year the Carrie Over Stock of Psyllium (Isabgol) will not go away.

This year, the production of the Psyllium (Isabgol) crop has reduced considerably due to its rains. Also, Carrie Forward stock was extremely modest. This year, the production of Pshyllium (Isabgol) in the country is estimated to be 1.5-1.6 million sacks (per bag of 75 kg), which was 1.8-2.0 million bags last year. However, last year, the Carrie forward stock of Pshyllium (Isabgol) was 0.3-0.4 million sacks, which was 25-50 thousand sacks this year. Let's say that the annual demand for Psyllium (Isabgol) is 1.8 to 2.0 million sacks.

Reputed Manufactures from Unjha says that 70-75 percent of Indian Psyllium/Isbigol exports to USA American company P&G (Procter & Gamble) is its biggest buyer. He said that this demand of Psyllium/Isabgol at P&G Company's time is very normal. Psyllium/Isabgol's stock is estimated to be 0.2 million sacks. However, about 1.2 million sacks have been traded for Psyllium/ Isabgol till date. The remaining 0.9 million (July-March) of the current season are likely to be 0.4 million sacks of Psyllium/Isabgol. They say that this year the carrier over stock of Psyllium/Isabgol will not go.

In the year there are expected to be 2000 to 2,200 lot husk demand. To make a lot of husk, a thousand sacks are needed. The demand for P&G from this lot is expected to be 350-400 lots. This year, the production of Psyllium Husk /Isabgol husk is expected to be less than 1800 lot, due to which the price may go up further in the season.

Speaking of the price of Psyllium/Isabgol, the best packet in Unjha Mandi is being offered as 1675 to US$1850 per mt., semi-packet 1600 to 1700 per mt., foreign color powder is US$1700  and light Psyllium/isbagol US$1600 per mt.

Psyllium/Isabgol is produced only in India in the entire world. In India it is produced in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Indian Psyllium/Isabgol is exported in many countries of the world. But this export is most in the United States. American company P&G (Procter & Gamble) alone buys one third of Psyllium/Isabgol from India every year. Let's say that the demand for PSYLLIUM/ISBGOL increases by seven to ten per cent every year. In Psyllium/Isabgol, 25 percent husk (Psyllium husk) and the rest of the spleen, which is used for animal feed. Explain that if the maintenance is correct, then Psyllium/Isabgol does not get expired for many years. The yield of Isabgol in a HA is usually 14 sacks (per bag of 75 kg) and when the cost comes to US$700 to $1000  per Mt..
