FRESNO/ISTANBUL. Production costs have soared for pistachios leaving farmers are in a tight spot in Turkey. Heat has also reduced output. High risk is also that shipments might be delayed in California.

Low crop estimates in Turkey

Turkey has entered an on-year in terms of production, but current estimates are far less optimistic than initially anticipated. Harvesting is still underway, and the crop size is expected to be higher than last year. Production, in fact, ranged at 176,000 mt in 2023/2024 of which 31,000 mt were exported.
