Pistachios: 25% slump in US exports

SACRAMENTO/TEHRAN. Despite ranging much lower than last year, US pistachio exports are doing rather well. Attractive prices have boosted Iran’s exports.

Differing trends for US pistachios

US pistachio exports may be lagging on last year, yet they are still preforming exceptionally well as the December shipment report issued by the Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP) shows. Domestic shipments, however, tell a different story. Monthly domestic shipments drop to a multi-year low in December as they fell to 18.837 million pounds. This 16% down on the 22.280 million pounds shipped in December 2023. Year-to-date domestic shipments have also declined continuously in the last four years and stand at 81.329 million
