Peanuts: focus is on good quality

NEW DELHI. In India, but also in North and South American growing countries, market players are paying more attention to the good quality of their goods in order not to jeopardise exports to Europe. There were further price increases on the Indian market.

Price increases despite good crop prospects

The monsoon proved to be unpredictable for Indian peanut farmers this year. In June, it had already started a week late, leaving a rainfall deficit of 10.1%. In contrast, July saw 12.6% more rain than usual, which favoured sowing. September has now been favourable and growers are preparing for the upcoming harvest - benefiting from the recent rains.
