Peanuts: cyclone “Biparjoy” hits India

NEW DELHI. India and Pakistan were battered by strong winds and rains brought by cyclone "Biparjoy" over the weekend; the extent of damage is still being ascertained. Germany's peanut imports have dropped and Argentina is no longer the main supplier here.

Prices in India down

After the slight growth of the last few weeks, prices on the Indian peanut market have declined this week. Large quantities are currently reaching the spot markets in Gujarat from the state of West Bengal, which is putting enormous pressure on the market and prices. Other regions such as Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh also have very good crop results this year.
