NEW DELHI/BEIJING. As the large crop in China meets relatively weak demand, imports this season are significantly lower than last year. This is hitting Indian exporters hard.

Prices on the Indian peanut market continue to move within a fairly narrow range and have risen by a moderate USD 10/mt compared to last week. The market is largely stable. Market players report that goods are already becoming scarce in Tanzania and Mozambique, so that competitive pressure from these countries is easing, which is benefiting Indian exporters.
