Palm oil tops the imports

Imports of vegetable oil

 The imports of vegetable oils during  April 2017 is reported  at 1'339'489 tons compared to 1'248'887 tons in April 2016 i.e. up by 7%. in the total vegetable oil imports - 1'324'014 tons was edible oil and 15'475 tons of non edible oils.

With in the vegetable oil - Palm oil seems to top the top the list by comprising 62% of the total vegetable imports in April 2017. 

Palm oil import rose by 2.25% .

Among palm oil products, import of CPO (Crude Palm Oil)  went up to 5,11,139 tonnes in April this year, from 3,98,606 tonnes in the year- ago period.
