Oilseeds update: the roller coaster ride continues

FRANKFURT. Monitoring of the oilseed sector with day-to-day price comparisons.

After this week's sharp rise, the prices for sesame seeds have lost ground again in India. Depsite the observed decline in yields, sluggish demand is preventing the sunflower seed prices from rising in Bulgaria. Meanwhile, the prices for blue poppy seeds have stabilised in the Czech Republich at EUR 2.70-2.75 per kg FCA and limited supplies in Turkey have driven up prices to USD 3.90-4.00 per kg CFR Hamburg.

NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. India's sesame seed exports increased significantly in volume terms in October 2024, while the export value rose only moderately due to lower prices. Despite a smaller crop, the recent price declines could be only temporary.
