Oilseeds update: opposing price developments

FRANKFURT. Monitoring of the oilseed sector with day-to-day price comparisons.

While the announced sesame tender is keeping prices for natural sesame seeds down, declining shipments from African growing countries such as Nigeria and Sudan are pushing up export prices for hulled sesame seeds. However, prices may vary depending on the supplier. In order to cover the high demand for sesame seeds, India regularly imports additional commodities from Africa, which are mainly resold as hulled sesame seeds to other countries.
