FRANKFURT. Monitoring of the oil seed sector, comparing today’s prices with the previous day’s prices.

Prices in the Indian sesame seed market have strengthened slightly. While Indian traders are relatively in agreement about the market price, offers for Chinese pumpkin seeds vary by several 100 USD/mt depending on the supplier.

The US Department of Agriculture estimates the global sunflower seed production at 50.95 million mt in 2019/20, down 1% from the current season. In the two main producing countries Ukraine and Russia, the result of the upcoming crop is expected to decline by 1.3% to 14.8 million mt and 1.7% to 12.5 million mt respectively.
