LONDON/FRANKFURT. By March 2019 at the latest, if not by the end of this year, Great Britain, in all probability will no longer be part of the European Union. This will have serious consequences for the sugar market.

High dependency potential
In the last five years (2013-2017), sugar exports from Great Britain to other EU countries have increased by 47% to 195,411 mt. Similarly this also applies to the British sugar processing industry. They have increased the sugar import volume from other EU countries by almost 40% to 507,374 mt. But what will this mean for the European sugar market when Brexit is finalised?
