Millet: yields in Ukraine down by 18%

DALIAN/KYIV. The new crop is causing prices to fall in China. In Ukraine, the average yield per hectare of the 2024 millet crop has fallen by 18% compared to last year.

New crop causes prices in China to decline

After prices in the Chinese millet market rose again in September, they have now gone into reverse in recent weeks with the increased availability of the new crop. Domestic and overseas demand is good, while there are more than enough goods available to cover current demand. As a result, prices for hulled millet have fallen to USD 1,220/mt FOB Dalian, while offers for organic millet are now at a level of USD 1,300/mt FOB Dalian.
