DALIAN/KYIV. Harvesting is nearing completion in Ukraine. Weak demand for millet is giving rise to concerns in China and shipments to Germany have declined.

Subdued trading in China

Demand for millet is still very low in China, which has caused further price declines. Quotations declined by around USD 70/mt in September and by a more moderate USD 10/mt in October. Sales are very much limited and although some traders still hold supplies, they are unable to attract buyers. Exporters are in a similar position.
