Millet: harvest is in full swing

DALIAN/KYIV. In Ukraine, growers are busy harvesting millet, with 13% of the sown area harvested so far. Meanwhile, EU imports from Russia are suffering significantly from the new import duties.

Around 12,000 ha harvested in Ukraine

Millet is developing well in the Chinese cultivation regions and market players are expecting a significant increase in production this year. Processor capacity utilisation is low outside of the season and traders are primarily interested in disposing of their old stocks. Prices are currently largely stable, but if the new crop lives up to expectations, prices are likely to fall significantly once the goods are available.
