Speculations are running wild in Turkey as to the reasons behind the current price developments. Naturally, the 30% hike in the net monthly minimum wage to TRY 22,104 (USD 630) and increasing costs are highlighted as price drivers for a whole range of food commodities. Yet, other actions are also having an impact on hazelnuts.
