The sesame market has been has been an eye opener this year.

 The major importers of Sesame Seeds this season were China, Japan, Turkey, Korea and Vietnam.

And if you look at the major supplier India, isn’t in the top 3. This is due to the following reason:

  • China has higher import duty on Indian Sesame by 9% over African Sesame Seeds.
  • Japan fears of the pesticides residue and doesn’t want to take the risk anymore.
