Flaxseed: yield forecasts corrected downwards again

NUR-SULTAN. Only in the course of the harvesting process does the full extent of the damage caused by the drought become apparent. Crop estimates for the Kazakh flaxseed crop were once again corrected downwards.

Uncertain supply situation

The current insecurity in the flaxseed market causes traders to be reluctant when it comes to making offers for prompt shipments. The availability of goods for this season is too uncertain. Heat and drought have left their mark on Kazakhstan's growing regions and recent reports from the Kazakh Grain Union (KGU) suggest that only 1.2-1.3 million ha of the acreage will be yielding.
