LODZ. Traders are cautious when it comes to offers for the new crop. Weather-related sowing delays in Kazakhstan could implicate problems.

Risk of winter

Flaxseed brown, 99.9% purity from Eastern Europe is still trading at 470 EUR/mt DDP Germany for prompt delivery. Most, however, refuse to provide offers for the new crop.

In fact, market players report weather-related sowing delays in Kazakhstan, which may influence the pricing for both the current and the new crop. A later start to harvest would be highly risky, especially in the event of an early onset of winter. Once the first snow has fallen, the flaxseeds must remain on the fields until spring before they can be harvested.
