Flaxseed: adjustment of price forecasts

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada made only a few adjustments to the flaxseed forecasts for the 2020/2021 season in their August report.

Canadian flaxseed to become more expensive

After the last correction, the Canadian experts continue to expect a flaxseed crop of 512,000 metric tonnes in 2020, which would correspond to an increase of 5% over last year. The prerequisites for the increase would be a larger harvested area and a higher yield per hectare. Compared to the July report, the average price expectations for the 2020/2021 season were raised by 4% to CAD 530 per metric tonne.
