AYDIN. The price tendency for dried figs from Turkey can easily be predicted: it is on the rise.

Availability on the market is declining but at the same time there is little demand for immediate supply. Traders are busy ensuring supply for longterm contracts and not everyone has dried figs actively on offer.

Prices for raw material continue to rise
Since the beginning of the season slightly over 36,000 mt of dried figs were shipped from Turkey to other countries which is over half of the total amount produced in 2016 (about 72,000 mt). When you subtract the local demand and the volume bound in contracts only a few tons remain for free trade. For this reason prices have recently made a leap from 8-10 TRY/kg up to 12 TRY/kg.
