AYDIN. The efforts of interested buyers to find available dried-fig positions on the free market remain fruitless; what limited supplies remain are in the hands of traders and exporters.

New crop remains out of sight
Prices have stabilised but may still fluctuate upwards or downwards due to differences in the exchange rates. Figs ripen significantly later in the season than grapes or apricots, which is why they are usually not affected by frost in the beginning of the year. However, their drying phase lasts until the late summer/autumn, during which they might be exposed to rainfall proving detrimental to their quality. This is why no concrete assessments of the 2018 crop are available until the beginning of June.
