AYDIN. The export season is almost over. Only a few deliveries remain and there are hardly any offers available for the old crop.

Crop remains at risk

The first crop estimates and prices for dried figs should be published in three to four weeks. The International Dried Fruit and Nuts Council reckons with a production of 72,000 mt, which is similar to last year.

Since figs are harvested comparatively late they are at a higher risk of being exposed to adverse weather conditions while drying. Depending on the weather it is very well possible that even if production is good export supplies may be diminished.
