AYDIN. Buyers are finding it increasingly difficult to receive offers for dried figs from Turkey. Those who still have goods not bound in contracts can maintain the price levels of last week.

Others will only make price statements faced with real prospective buyers since they have to work with prices that have increased again. In the coming months prices should continue to rise since there is less and less raw material available in the market and the remaing stocks will have to last until the end of the season.

Declining exports
Compared to the same period last year exports of dried figs from Turkey have gone down by 7,3%. In spite of higher prices Germany as a bulk buyer is one of the few that have even increased their imports, if only by 1%.
