Dried figs: further upward trend

AYDIN. Suppliers are taking advantage of the low supply of dried figs and regularly increase their prices. Nevertheless, exports remain at a high level.

No end in sight

As stocks of dried figs dwindle, suppliers are taking every opportunity to drive up prices for the few remaining stocks. Commodity prices have now climbed to TRY 250/kg. Exporters are holding their positions for their existing customers, which is why no more dried figs are actually being traded freely on the market.

Fig trees usually develop later than apricot trees, for example, and so far the weather in recent weeks has had no negative impact on the crop and there have been no unforeseen developments.
