Dried figs: sufficient commodities

AYDIN. The markets for dried figs are currently very quiet and the exports that are taking place still relate to previous purchases. Contrary to earlier statements, sufficient commodities are existent.

Rising export figures

Last week, Turkey exported 1,499 metric tonnes of dried figs and fig products at an average price of USD 4,896 per metric tonne; since the beginning of the season, a total of 46,744 metric tonnes has been exported. In the same period last year, weekly exports amounted to 1,234 metric tonnes while total shipments since the beginning of the season had reached 39,394 metric tonnes.
