Dried figs: Slight damage to crops

AYDIN. Precipitation in the Turkish fig growing areas has led to some of the fruit on the trees being damaged.

Market participants remain hopeful
According to growers, however, the damage has so far been limited. Nevertheless, prices for last year's crop of dried figs tend to be higher than a week ago. Market participants expect concrete offers for new dried figs to be made shortly. Many traders already brought the 2017/18 season to a close a while ago and now the focus is on the development of the 2018 crop and the associated prices.
