AYDIN. Despite declining exports, Turkish dried fig exporters consider the season to be relatively balanced. Growers continue to hold back large dried fruits.

Not much variety

The Turkish dried fig market has little variety to offer these days. According to market players, prices have stabilised for the time being, while exports remain at a moderate level. Larger dried figs of size no 3 and larger are still hardly being offered, with growers seeking the highest possible prices and quotations at around TRY 300-350/kg, depending on quality. For dried figs, no 4 and no 5, commodity prices of TRY 230-250/kg are being called for. According to market players, price increases in the new year cannot be ruled out as soon as demand
