AYDIN. The average export price for Turkish dried figs has increased by around 20% compared to 2016/17. No wonder the producers are satisfied with their profits.

Stable prices until the new crop arrives
The prices for Turkish dried figs have stabilised; it is only the exchange rate that causes fluctuations. Market players expect offers at the beginning of the season to be at the current level - the prices are already comparatively high, and the growers are satisfied with their profits. Around 72,000 mt of dried figs are expected to be produced in Turkey in 2018. This season’s carry over stock are expected to amount to roughly 2,000 mt.
