Dried figs: price decline possible after the turn of the year

AYDIN. It is estimated that Turkey has not seen such good dried fig production for 15 years. This is also reflected in demand.

Exports exceed last year's level

A good 26,000 metric tonnes of dried figs and dried fig products have been shipped overseas since the beginning of the season, which is 14% more than last year around this time. Out of this, 22,365 metric tonnes are whole dried figs. Last season, it was only 19,878 metric tonnes in the same time period. Rising demand primarily comes from large importing countries such as China, India and the USA.
