Dried figs: nominal corrections in price

AYDIN. The dried fig market in Turkey should have a few quiet months ahead. The export volume to date is quite respectable.

Exports rise by 17%

Market players report that the TMO stopped buying in December after pruchasing 1,500 metric tonnes of dried figs. The TMO also stopped byuing sultanas and hazelnuts. Turkey has shipped 33,670 metric tonnes of dried figs and dried fig products overseas since the beginning of the season, which is an increase of 17.4% or 5,000 metric tonnes over last year.
