AYDIN. Although the market players in Turkey are very much aware of the fact that the demand for dried figs is unusually high for this time of the year, the current drastic shift in prices comes as a surprise. Meanwhile, Turkey's shipments continue at a high pace.

Shipments gain even more pace

Turkey shipped 1,242 metric tonnes of dried figs and dried fig products overseas last week. The average price ranged at USD 3,504 per metric tonne. Total shipments have amounted to 41,284 metric tonnes this season so far, which is 17% more than last year. As the quality is better and prices are cheaper this season demand is high.
