Dried figs: France is new leading export destination

AYDIN. Limited supplies and high prices made Turkish dried figs less attractive to many buyers this season. There are, however, exceptions.

Italy raises imports by 20%
In Turkey, the 2018/19 export season started around two weeks earlier than in 2017/18. And yet, as little as 52,604 mt of dried figs and dried fig products have been exported from Turkey this season so far, a decline 8.9% over last year. The export value also fell by 18.5% to USD 206.03 million and the average export price dropped by 10.5% to 3,917 USD/mt.
