AYDIN. Last year's drought hit some fig farmers hard; the government has now announced support. Meanwhile, export prices have dropped significantly.

Noticeable price declines

There is still little activity in the Turkish fig market. Farmgate prices remain unchanged and it is reported that there are hardly any raw materials left on the market. However, as there is hardly any demand from overseas at the moment and the exporters are not in a hurry to sell their figs, export prices have dropped significantly compared to last week: dried figs, Lerida, no 2 are currently at USD 5.74/kg FOB Izmir.
